He'll let you help set up/take down blinds and decoys…which I like. I don't want to sit around and watch some dude put decoys out or drive off after the hunts over and make the guides do it. So, I like that I get to participate in that, and I've had it before with other outfitters where they won't let you touch anything…. Like you're going to break a decoy.  On the other hand, if you want to sit around and drink coffee and shoot the breeze with your hunting buddies, that's fine too. He's laid back and loose, but completely on point.  He's Tight Loose. You have to experience it, and you'll know what I'm saying.    

I've never seen a better dog, or dog handler, and I've seen the best of the best. His interactions with his dog and the birds is amazing!

You don't ever need to be touching your duck call, because he'll make it sound like there's 10 of y'all, so just concentrate on your shooting and pile them up. He's quietly obsessed with being sure the spread is right, you're sitting in the right spot, the blind is set up right and properly brushed in, and that you're going to have the greatest chance of success.    

Most duck guides take you to the same hole. Jake scouts. He knows where the birds are. I don't think I've ever hunted the same place twice with him. It's always somewhere different. Some different scenery, somewhere the birds are. This very much sets him apart, and increases your success.   Scouting, calling, dog work, set up, prep, calling shots. It's all there. If you're spending money on going duck hunting, you shouldn't spend it anywhere else.
